Google has just announced search winners for the year 2006, even though we had not officially finished the year. Either the numerical gap between results are so wide that Google’s smart engineers don’t give a chance for a rank change, or simply they did not want to miss the year-end buzz and stay behind Yahoo’s similar awards… The biggest surprise for me: Rebelde. Wanna know what was hot in 2005? Myspace, Ares, Baidu, Wikipedia, orkut, iTunes, Sky News, World of Warcraft, Green Day, Leonardo Da Vinci. For me, the biggest surprises were Sky News and Green Day. The consistent title seekers: MySpace and Wikipedia.
Last but not least, let’s bet on the list for 2007: myspace & wikipedia for sure. iTV, venice (not the city but the project), torrent & video. Anyone to bet against?
