About The Author
It is getting harder and harder these days to decribe oneself with meaningful, long and wisely-constructed sentences. Bullet points in MS Word started the change from prose answers to succint one-liners. Then came the era that people expressed themselves with a collection of tags and links. Thanks to Twitter, people started to not care for anything other than the first 140 characters of any thought.
As a supporter of these technologies, here is how I express myself:
- I am a proud graduate of Bogazici University, with a B.S in Industrial Engineering dated 2005. Other than some of the most interesting friendships it has helped me to forge, it has led me learn the most fascinating engineering masteries I have known (Operations Research and Systems Simulation).
- Despite my love for my undergrad years, I couldn’t resist working as a Part Time Assistant Brand Manager for Procter & Gamble Istanbul office. With so much effort and quite significantly lesser results, we could not make Mr. Proper a success in Turkey. Then I took over Oral-B and led it until…
- I decided to pursue my MBA degree in Stanford University Graduate School of Business but in the meantime…
- I found an opportunity to realize my venture capital ambitions in a summer associate role in Turkey’s largest VC firm, iLab Ventures, working along with Cem Sertoglu, from whom I learnt at least as much as I learnt while reading hundreds of books, thousands of blog posts and helping student entrepreneurs in various universities in the last 3 years.
At this exact point in time till June 15th, 2010, I will be studying in Stanford University MBA program, class of 2010 and hopefully have my dual degree in M.Sc Environment and Resources interdisciplinary program.
Building on this fact, here are some tags and subjects that express my professional interests: clean tech, clean energy, energy independence, water management and rights, waste-free desalination, wind & solar energy optimization, energy efficiency, smart grids, energy storage, internet start-ups, sustainable business conduct and fact-based management.
Other than nextleap.net, my other publications and participations include (but might not be limited to):
